Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 7000 Mac/Win USB

The mouse is comfortable enough, but I have found the range to be quite limited. The manual says about one meter, I found it to be more like one foot. Any further than that and you start to lose clickes and responsiveness.

The magnifyer is not very good either. It takes a few moments to load and is grainy and not very adjustable – there are better 3rd party free downloads out there. (I think MS Powertools has a better one)

I would pass if I were buying this again. Look for something with more range.

According to microsoft, the wireless mouse 5000 is bluetooth enabled, but not the 7000, which is standard RF. I’m sure the mouse itself works well, but if you are looking for a dongle-less connection to your bluetooth-enabled laptop, look elsewhere.

Purchased this from Amazon on 21 July. Yesterday the left mouse button began making a loud squeaking noise whenever I clicked it. Sounds as if some internal parts are coming into contact. The squeak is loud enough so I don’t want to be in the room with it (an amusing concept when trying to use a mouse.)

I’ll try to get Microsoft to exchange it for one that doesn’t squeak, but of course I’ll never use it since I no longer trust the product.

This product is excelent, the magnifier functionality is very helpful to identify small words or pictures in the screen, and it’s price is excelent, I saw this product in other stores like 40% more expensive than amazon.

I like the mouse. Build quality is good. But the laser sensor is bad. It cannot track properly on white surface like a piece of paper.
